Mike Lindsay interview for Strange Tourist

I spoke to Tunng’s Mike Lindsay about his new solo album Super Shapes Vol 1, which is out today, for Strange Tourist.

We chatting about the creation of the album, how Anna B Savage became so heavily involved in it, making cucumber salad live on stage, the influence of the nearby sea on his music-making process - both on his own work and when producing others - and the wider Margate music scene.

I didn’t have space to talk about how lovely his studio is. While not an analogue studio - the large iMac screen about the mixing desk gives that away instantly - it definitely has that vibe. I can see how just being in that room would go some way to get great performances out of musicians, before Mike starts working his magic.

Anyway, you can read the interview here, and don’t forget to sign up to the Strange Tourist newsletter while you’re there for tips on things to do around Kent and London.
